Okuri Ashi Barai Start ist in der Mitte der Kataachse. Die Bewegungsrichtung ist 90° quer zur Kataachse weg von Joseki. Tori und Uke bewegen sich im schnellen Schleppschritt seitwärts. Beim 2 Schritt Tori zieht kräftig den Arm von Uke nach unten um Gewicht auf das Bein zu bekommen. Beim 3 Schritt führt Tori Okuri Ashi Barai aus. Uke erhebt sich und geht in die richtige Position, es folgt die linke Ausführung der Technik. Die Linkstechnik wird von der Endposition der Rechtstechnik hin zur Kataachse ausgeführt.
